Backpack hedge trimmer

    I kid you not. Today I saw a guy trimming hemlocks with some type of backpack hedge trimmer. The blade was vertical, at least 6 feet tall. The trees are trimmed vertically like an arborvitae. Anybody ever seen these before? Could have been Echo, not sure.

    Husqvarna made one like that about 10 years ago.
    It had different attachments, like a chain saw, hedge shears pruners....

    Echo did to years ago. A big 35 cc motor on a back pack, with a flex line to the trimmer shaft.

    RedMax makes several, but I don't think they are for sale in the states. Go to Komatsu's web site and you can see them.

    Shindaiwa built a back pack string trimmer for several years. It had a 35cc engine and more power than most landscapers would ever need.
