I just got Icpi certified and I have been doing a few paver jobs here and there. My question is what is the easiest way to get my slope and base right? It just seems like I am struggling a little on this end which happens to be the most important. I am curious to see what is the easiest way to get everything level. I took the class but I agree I need more hands on but I didn't know if there were any tricks to this I am missing out on ? Any help will be appreciated !

For grading the aggregate base, we do it the old fashioned way using string line and line levels.

Some people here use their laser levels.

But with a string line, it provides a visual and you can see what is going on and what needs to be done. A laser level does not provide that all important visual.

We screed 1" of bedding sand using 1" o.d. steel pipes
