I have a customer that wants a bed (square/rectangle) put around his swing in his front yard with pea gravel. Any suggestions on what to use for the bed material. I dont think he want pavers. Something simple. Landscape timbers?

Is this a piece of lawn furniture or something that a child will play on? If it has a frame base, then maybe a paver base under it. If this is a traditional swing that someone might fall from then a thick layer of a shock-absorbing mulch is needed.

He wants pea gravel in the bed. My queston is, what to use to make the bed? I was just going to go with landscape timbers or treated 4 x 4's. Its a porch swing like furniture. He wants it in a bed to get it off the lawn.
