    that red mulch looks like crap i think the before pic was better, dont plant in straight lines not zen

    I really like that purple stuff in the before picture. What is it? Never seen anything like it around here in NJ.

    Tradescantia pallida (synonym Setcreasea purpurea) or Purple Heart. Around you it's most likely a indoor plant.

    Most popularly known in FL as "Purple Queen".

    Sorry, not a big fan of red mulch and linear plantings.

    awww whats wrong with red mulch? its really popular down here, everyone wants it and I make good money putting it down.

    Nothing wrong with it. Give the client what they want, don't worry about what people online, who you'll never meet, think. I think it looks nice, but again, who cares what I think, did the client like it? If so, then you have completed a successful job, it's time to move on to another one.
