    Help I need your input

I was having a discussion yesterday with an friend about belt life.

It dawned on me I only have my personnal experience to go on.

What do you get for belt life in hours for the following belts?

Pto or engine to deck belt?

    Engine to drive train belt?

What life do you expect for them in hours?

I would like to know what kind of machine your are using also.

On the most frequently used Gravely walk behind replace the deck belt once a year as a preventive measure. Anything to avoid down time is the plan for the day for me!

My SCAG mowers have yet to wear any of thier belts down, I dont give em the chance. Once a year I change all of them, preventative maintenance is teh way to go!

    Thanks for the feed back

I realy need to know what kind of hours you are getting on your pto and blade drive belt?

Here in flordia we get about 600hrs a year for the one man operation while I have seen guys get 1100 hrs in a year on larger operations. These are full time cutters

A part time operator might put 50 to 200 hrs on a mower so as you can see changing the belt every year does not give me any Idea what the belt life is.
