Can someone tell me the difference between Hybrid Bermudagrass and Seeded Bermudagrass?
Hybrid bermudagrasses are derived from mixing different varieties of bermuda grasses to gain an advantage over common/seeded bermuda. Such as lower cutting heights, darker color, thicker density, weed resistance, traffic tolerance, fewer seed heads, and some improved shade and cold tolerance. However, Hybrid bermudagrass can only be established through sod or sprigs. Seeded/Common bermudagrasses do have some improved varieties but it can not match the qualities that the hybrid bermudagrasses have.
