I generally do this by shovel because i am very particular about how clean the curves are cut. Any input on a quality bed edger? Thanks, TJ

If you do a lot of mulch I would get one. Cuts the time of edging down a lot. Some times you may have to go back with a shovel to clean up a few spots. In the long run they pay for themselves you do a lot of mulching

Browns bed edgers are well made but I usually rent one as they are around $2800

I have a Brand new Bed Shaper by little wonder
    Also A Brown Bed Edger
and A Stihl stick bed edger...

Bed shaper is the easiest to use, hydro driven, cuts smooth.. Have to pick up clippings... We use a utv behind it, then it runs to a skid loader and thats dumps into a dump truck.. For our large properties..

Brown edger- Have to manually drag this thing backwords, everyone complains about it.. Hard on your back and arms, kills your energy early in the day.. But the clean up is great, use a soft rake and spread the soil out, remove the grass roots.. easy clean up.. We like it on homes were there is only 20 mins of edging..

Stick bed edger- we use on tree rings, it's a nice addition to the other edgers but not something you want for your only edger..

The best I seen and Im a owner of it Is a Turf Teq
I had a brown it sucks you have to drag it

The Turf Teq is a WB a kid can run it new beds or grooming old beds its fast, ground dry leaves the dirt like sand roots wont stop it

Either turf teq or the little wonder bed shaper with the grooming blades.
Rented both. I have owned browns and a blue bird bed bug.
The turf teq and little wonder are hydro static and you can change the blades from grooming which leaves the edge like sod or opening blades which pulverizes like the browns and blue bird.
Blue bird and browns you have to pull and in my area clean up anyway ( remove the dirt you edged) so it takes just as long. These get heavy after long periods of use and get clumped up with mud if it rained with in the past two days and last don't leave a clean edge when wet.
