Best fuel stabilizer?

    I think i will do that. ty for the info. not sure about separating my gas. it seems that its alot more work than what its worth. sure my engine will last longer but ill spend hundreds of thosuands of dollars in time doing so. not to mention having fuel tanks which i would not be able to have here. if the issue is gumming up the engine. a can of sea foam once a month or so will keep it goodn clean. not to mention the gears under the engine.

    No problems. You can get it everywhere from auto part stores to Wal-Mart. I know it sounds a little ridiculous to do even to trimmers but if your replacing 2-3 carbs a year on them or having them no run right after sitting, I think its worth the extra little effort.

    makes sense to me. leaving your rings and carb parts open to the elements can cause degragation. coating them will protect them.

    Auto engines have. OPE is at best made to tolerate ethanol. Air cooled, diaphram pump carb two strokes are the worst afflicted. All air cooled engines run better on straight gas. That's pretty well documented.

    The reason for ethanol in our fuel is allegedly to improve emissions. That's debatable, and suspect at best. It has more to do with money than anything else. 10% of our fuel now is "grown" by farmers. American industry including Everything from the seed & fertilizer sellers the tractor and implement sellers truckers and farmers benefit from it. No wonder they want to push another 5%. But I really didn't want this to get political. It's here, we have to deal with it.

    as much as i enjoy political discussions i do not think i know enough about the subject to know if its justified.

    but if the problem is simply gumming up of the carb. wouldnt it be better to just use a cleaner once a month or clean the carb every few years vs doing this with all your gas. this this much more time, thus much more money.

    Engines are evolving as we speak. Carbs are a thing of the past. EFI is what's going to take over the market soon enough due to their performance and emissions. I see something similar to the revolution that took place in the 80's with car engines. But hey, that's just me and my 2 cents.

    EFI is kinda expensive for 21cc engines

    This is true. Smaller engines may be not on the EFI chopping block but I will say 2-stroke even for the 21cc is on borrowed time.

    I donknwo. in another thread i read about 4 stroke vs 2 stroke. seems small 4 stroke engines jsut dont last. or so i was told
