  3. I mow last cut at the same height as we mow for the year.
If they get leaf removal they could get as low as 2.25".

Up here in Wisconsin I usually cut the final cutting the same height that i have been cutting at all season long, which is 3inches. Though if a customer wants the lawn cut shorter i usually cut it down to 2.5 inches. I asked my uncle about cutting heights at the end of the year. He's a horticulture professor at the University of Illinois. He says that a 1/2 inch doesnt make a difference in cutting it at the end of the year to prevent snow mold. It may help the grass but its a very small amount. Just dont go overboard and cut it way below what you have been cutting at all season long. Thats what he told me.

I say we all move down south for the winter :D

I make the finals at 2". The Ky Blue and fescue mix here looks good at low settings when there is no danger of burning it out. All my lawns look really good now.
During the year they are at 3 to 3.5".

I mow 3 to 3 1/2" during summer and lower to 2 1/2 in the fall. Mostly just to chop leaves and cleanup yards. Double blades and mowing inward the entire yard gives one nice clean result.

  9. I would say as a rule of thumb. Whatever you are cutting at during the normal season, take it down by a spacer and you should be set.
