I wasn't sure where to post this, but here it goes. I need a versatile pressure washer that can clean any surface from vehicles to siding etc. How much PSI/GPM do I need. Also what brand? Karcher and DeWalt both seem to have nice units. I had a Karcher 3100 PSI with the 9 HP Subaru, but I got rid of it because the Subaru leaked oil really bad from the bearing. Right now I am considering a Karcher with around 2500 PSI and a Honds GC engine for around $300-400. I want something that will last, but this machine will not be used a ton. Thanks for any help.:)

I have a kartcher with a honda motor 2300 psi. Its a great all around washer. It may not be the biggest but it works for what I use it for.
Cleaning drive ways, washing mud off my truck..... works well for me. Just my .02 cents.

We picked up a pressure washer at Lowes for under $300 that is 2200 psi I believe and it has worked fine for everything from washing bikes/cars/mowers to doing driveways and houses. I dont understand spending a fortune on pressure washers because I have a middle of the line machine and it has not had one problem in 4 years of good abuse. But if you can get a 2500 psi with a honda engine for 3-400 then Id say go with that

I have been checking on Karcher washers. I found a 4000 PSI 3.6 GPM 13 HP Honda for $800 and the 2500 PSI 2.5 GPM 5.5 HP Honda is $300. The smaller one comes with a small pump that appears to be oiless. I just want one that can clean almost anything and will last a long time. The bigger Honda is a commercial GX series.

I bought a gc 2600 psi honda at sams last year for $280 and it was okay. I sold it last week for $180 because I got a gx 13 hp 3600 psi one at sams as an open box for $99. Actually I got 2. I gave one to my dad. The extra pressure is great. Originally they are $800 and I think the HD dewalt one for $1000 is the same thing.

$99:cool2: Any more at that Sams club? Also, did you have problems cleaning anything with the smaller one or did it just take longer?

    Thanks...

What would you be trying to clean that a 2600psi washer wouldnt blast off? Mine isnt that much and Ive never had a problem with it and Ive cleaned some nasty surfaces

It cleans dirt off my cement drive way much better. It also reaches the second story windows of my house with more pressure and more volume. 3.5 gal is always more water than 2.5/min.

I was in sams and saw three pressure washers were they they sell the open box specials and such. All were the 13hp hondas. Two were the new models of this year for $99 and 1 was the model they sold last year or the year before for $20. None had hoses. I bought the three. Two worked good after I put new pull cords on them and the third I couldn't start. I gave two to my father and he gave the one we couldn't start to his mechanic buddy. A new 50' 3/8" hose and gun and tips and some pump oil and regular oil cost about $120. So it was a good deal.
I can probably find the receipt if you don't believe. I posted a pic of my mowing equipment and people don't believe that either...
