what is the best time to put down crabgrass control April or May.
You are in the same climate I am in and we put it down 3 weeks ago. We've been mowing for 2 weeks.
Northern IN is way behind MO in spring warmup. You need to have your pre-ems down before the lilacs flower. When they do flower, hurry up to finish pre-ems, LOL. In general, crabgrass and foxtail will begin to germinate as the lilac blooms fade.
Figure on mid-May in a normal year, but I have seen crab germinating here in first week of May, and as late as June. Depends on growing degree day accumulation in any particular year.
