What is the best way to mount lights in trees? used a couple tree kits before but didn't like them. Any suggestions?

We use the stainless cast mounting kits. Whatever you use be sure its stainless. The cast kit provides a gap between the light and the tree to prevent rot as well.

Some guys preffer to use strap kits but im not to familiar with thoes. Im sure someone will chime in.

I would run very fast from straps. As Billy said, use stainless steel screws (stand-off) screws with the mounting bracket. This will allow the tree to grow without it growing around your mounting bracket.

Straps are great for demos but not for final install. Mounting to trees is an automatic sale of a maintenance agreement, carry a picture of what happens if you don't maintain a tree light.
