I'm looking for the best kind of portable sprayer to use with hort. oil and insecticides. Does anyone know of a good backpack or cart type sprayer that would work well? I have skid sprayers but they are being used for turf only.

    Thanks

I use a Solo 433 with a custom made wand fitted with ceramic disc core nozzles. This is an engine drive backpack sprayer putting out 1.8 GPM and 400+ PSI. You need pressure and volume to treat shrubs efficiently. Especially if hort oil is the main product being used. You will only kill what gets hit by the spray.

Would a battery powered backpack have enough pressure if i had the right nozzles.

No. Take note of the operating pressure of that sprayer I mentioned. Battery powered sprayers are good for about 30-40 PSI and less than 1 GPM. You need pressure and volume to effectively penetrate into dense foliage. With the equipment I have, it takes me less than 10 minutes to treat 1000 sq ft of shrubs.
