bid help

    Hi all!

    I just recently aquired a bid package for multiple properties of a central pa realty management company, the one property is huge and im not an expert. any ideas what you would bid for mowing and trimming?

    one section is mowed weekly - 340,330sq ft
    the next section is mowed monthly - 277,214sq ft

    also what do you guys charge for fertilizer and insecticide?

    You'll likely get better responses if you give it the ol' college try and post your estimates and refine based on feedback.

    haha i haven't been there in a long while even though its about a mile away, but i was looking around and crunching numbers and using about $110.00 per acre but thats getting me like 859 per mow/trim for the 1st section and like 700 for the second section....thats over 4 grand/mo....like i said im not used to doing this big of a job..it just seems way too much...but can someone give me input please?

    If it's a high end company you might be able to get a decent wage, but most realtors pay bottom dollar.

    Most guys charge around half of what your asking per acre. I know one big company only charges $400 for 9 acres and it must be cut weekly as it is a high end softball complex.

    I personally haven't gotten into big properties, but I know what other guys are bidding. I just don't feel like under bidding and just barely making money.

    Justin,

    It really depends on what type of equipment you have and your production rates. One person may have equipment to complete those two sections in 10 manhours while another may take 20 manhours.
    If, for instance, both persons normal rate is 45 per manhour then the difference would be 450/cut compared to 900/cut. The questions is how long will it take you to complete the work based on your current production rates and how much are your rates per manhour.
