    does this sound right??? $45,000 for the following

    a year round contract : a large complex

    20.42 acres of mowing & trimming
    (mow 36-40 times a year)
    in oklahoma there will be drought periods especially on the
    nonirrigated acres)

    7.35 acres weed control and fertilization

    seasonal color 500 sq ft ( 3 times a year)

    mulch area of 6000 sq ft
    apply 1 -2 inches twice a year

    1000 linear ft of hedges only the top and front needs to be trimmed

    The price to cut the grass only 38 times. I would charge 46,557.60

    If you don't win this bid, ask to see the winning bid. Unless this job has many small areas not accesible by large mowers,you will be shocked. Again, I don't know anyone in this area who mows that many times. You don't have to trust me, ask some other area contractors. 27-30 is the norm. That would be 9 months or a little more of mowing every week. It doesn't happen around here, unless the spec sheet calls for it and I have never seen that. I find it much easier to get higher prices per square foot like the ones you posted on jobs of about 5 acres and under.
