Black Mold ??

    Have a customer with thin areas that are black,real black. she said it was white last week. I dont have a picture, but any clues to what type of fungus,mold etc.. it could be.

    Sounds like it could be slime mold. If so, brush it off with a broom. It does not harm the grass.

    Or...it could be algae. Not sure of cure for algae--maybe a copper fungicide would work.

    its dry, will not brush off. I have never seen anything like this in my time. I thought someone painted shutters,thats what it looks like. It rubs off when touched and ya pull some blades,still shows small white spots also. The blade is not damaged. I am clueless. Creech what you think??

    Stripe smut, pythium. Could be either or neither.

    I agree w/powdery mildew.....

    Are these areas shady?
