I swapped out the OEM mulching blades the other day on my TTHP. Replaced them with another set of OEM mulching blades. When I went to tighten the bolts I cannot get the discharge bolt to the proper torque, the bolt just spins when the blade is blocked. I am getting stringers between the center and discharge blades. I recently adjusted the PTO engagement linkage and it is bottomed out, I do not know if that has anything to do with it.

How do I fix this? TIA

    Hamsey,

If the blade bolt is spinning instead of tightening then either the bolt or the spindle shaft threading is stripped out. If this isn't tight, it can allow your blade to slip easily which could definitely lead to your cut quality issue.

With your PTO adjustment, I'd say you've got one of two issues. Either the PTO clutching belt is simply worn out, or your pivot is sticking and not allowing full engagement. The pivot for the clutching belt is somewhat hidden and often a missed point.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

    Thanks,
