Question for Blade Edging on Concrete to Grass Interface. How deep below the concrete surface do you normally cut. I use the concrete as the reference surface and try to cut about 1/2 to 1 inch below the concrete. Am I cuting to deep.

    Thanks Wayne

Wayne, even with a standard 8" blade you won't edge too deep. It won't take long for that blade to be reduced to 7" and then 6 1/2" and then you will replace it and think "Now THAT'S a good looking edge".

No more than about 1/2", really- maybe an inch in spots. There's no reason to. It's not the depth, it's just the seperation of the turf and hard surface. A cut that is 2" deep will close up just as fast as a cut 1/2" deep. The main thing is, as long as it is deep enough to appear deep (not 1/4").

What Runner said. All you do by cutting deep is wear out the blade and create opportunities for weed growth.

    About an inch.

I agree with what's been said, it's the width not the depth that matters.
