So I bought a 48" Great Dane Super Surfer last week, and it is working out really well. Until I went to sharpen the blades.

I went to jack it up with my Jungle Jack, and noticed that the blade belt pulleys will be taking the weight of the mower if I use the jack. In other words, when I jack it up, because the pulleys are on top of the floating deck they will hit the underside of the frame, so they end up carrying all the weight.

On my Exmark Lazer, there are rubber pads on top of the deck to protect everything.

The dealer says to use a ramp. Is that the best/easiest/fastest way?

How about putting a block of wood between the deck and frame so the pulleys don't make contact...

Just ramp it up on your trailer gate with half of it hanging off the side. Split gates are ideal, but the weight will remain where it should be.

Thanks for the help. I'll try the block of wood idea...and the trailer ramp.
