I have a 2009 John Deere Z830A (no MOD deck). I am looking to get some new blades soon. Right now it has stock Deere blades and they do okay, but not fabulous. I mow quite a bit of tall grass (cemeteries, bi-weekly accounts) and I don't mulch any. What would be the best blades to get?

The factory high lifts work the best for conditions we mow in. Tried the G6 blade and it did ok but not as good as the stock high lifts.

Thanks, I'll stick with the factory high lifts. Easier to get and probably cheaper anyways.

IME, both Oregon regular blades and the G6's are cheaper than the Deere OEM's.

If you have a 54" deck, Deere shows the non MOD deck came with 1 1/16" lift blades (OEM part number M136195), but the MOD came with 1 5/16" lift blades (OEM part number M144652). This is Oregon's direct replacement for the OEM's 144652= 92-118.

If you have the 60" non MOD deck, according to Deere it came with OEM part number M128485. They have 7/8" lift and are actually a medium lift blade.

The 60" MOD came with TCU15881, which are high lift blades with 1 1/4" lift. This is the Oregon direct replacement blade part number for the high lift blades- 92-113.

Check the part number stamped into your blades. If you have the M136195 (54"deck) you can gain a lot of lift with the OEM144652's or the Oregon version 92-118

Same thing if you have the 60" non MOD. You can gain a lot of lift if you have the M136195 medium lifts now, by going to the OEM TCU15881 blades, or the Oregon replacement blades for the factory high lifts which are again- 92-113.

Okay, so the Oregon 92-113 would have more lift than the factory deere blades? It says on the Oregon website they are 1.25 inch lift vs. Deere's .78 inch lift. Is this correct?

Here is a pic of the the lift like the ones yours came with next to the high lifts. As you can see, there's a big difference. Yours would have the same exact lift as the one on the left. The high lift in the middle is an OEM TCU15881. The one on the right is a G6. These blades are all for a 60" Deere Ztrak. My Z720A came with the one on the left, my Z950A came with the one in the middle. The G6's work extremely well under a non MOD deck. They have more lift by quite a bit than the OEM std lift blade, but due to the space between the fingers, they don't move quite as much air as the OEM high lifts even though the lift area of the blade is a lot longer than on either of the other two blades. But..... they chop long cllippings up way better than either OEM blades. Way better. The cutting edge is way longer on the G6's too, and that also helps the QOC.
