I have an older lesco WB with a newer 14hp kawi motor on it. When it's being used, i'm noticing that the blade belts surge in speed sometimes, the motor doesn't surge at all. I'm wondering what the problem could be. Belts? Any suggestions? When they are running as fast as they should the cut i get is great, but, it's spotty so i don't use the mower because i'm not happy with that kind of quality!

Check the belt, It could be glazed over causing slippage and also check the adjustments. Check all idler pulleys and deck spindles could be one of them trying to lock up.
