we gave up brooms loong ago when we went "GREEN" we got some really sweet carbon fiber brooms and titanium hand snips. Guess it makes up for all the black smoke my diesel puts down.

You mean you guys are sweeping crap? REALLY? :dizzy:

These dorks don't understand that the new generation hand helds have catalyst converters and in time all hand helds will produce lower emissions, much the same as automobiles.

All this crap is a college social experiment that will have a significant and negative impact on a huge industry in which they have invested no skin in the game. Wait until the tons of clippings begin to blow around their precious little MP3 players and up their a$$es, they'll be singing a different tune.

Pretty sure I sat through a BMP class in the last year where I was lectured on the importance of removing clippings from walkways and roadways properly because they could potentially contaminate the aquifers.........so I guess the question to ask when this hearings come up is would you rather us pollute the environment?

I remember reading an article about the blower bans.. either on this site or through the magazine, and the anti blower guy quoted "we were lied to when they said they would save time"... That floored me, Who in their right mind doesn't think blowers are worth their weight in gold when it comes to time saving. I think youd have to hire an entire new crew just for "sweeping up" if blowers were banned.

Yup...I imagine a conversation something like this...

Client: What do you mean my price went from $100 per month to $250 per month?

Me: Well...the blower ban goes into effect next month and it used to take 20 minutes to mow, edge, and trim plus 5 minutes to blow. Now it will take 30 minutes to sweep instead of blowing. I promise we will be quiet and won't kick up too much dust though, isn't that worth the extra $1800 a year?
