This thread will boil down to who likes stihl vs who likes redmax. From what you read they are both good. Around here there are about 20 stihl dealers and 2 redmax who are both out of the way. The redmax is heavy, and everything I have is stihl, always has been for the most part. The br600 is great. Powerful, quiet, not overly heavy. The redmax, well all I know is its heavier.

If you like the Redmax's stick with them. The 8000 series does seem to have abit more power then the Stihl 600 but the Stihl is quieter, lighter and less bulky. I have a Stihl.

I like the 4-mix Trimers and Blowers...alot easier on the ole ears.

Some day all blowers and trimers will be 4-mix

I have alway's had redmax till this yr. I bought a still 600 and the big shindaiwa 4 stroke. I saved a ton of cash on gas this past fall. The shin fuel tank holds about 1.5 hrs worth of gas . My redmax 8000 ,lucky to get 45mins out of a tank.
