What is the difference between a Blue and Red Shindaiwa T230?
Maybe the use of a blade.
My understanding from buying the blue Shin is that its a limited editon model, no other benfits than the red model.
Only difference is the color.
The blue one has a diferent part on the end of the shaft, so that it can except the blades.
unless its the new C-4 model. the new 4 stroke unit
The Shindaiwa 230, 231, 260, and 261 all had limited editions . In the case with the limited editions the only difference was that the engine cover on the limited edition was blue instead of red. There were no other differences besides that !
The model 2500 is the C4 technology model which is a darker blue !
if I remember correctly, a little more $$$ too.
Yeah, I think it is. What's the point? It gets dirty, it gets beat on and it does the same job as the cheaper red one. It won't be much a collector's item with a few years wear on it. I guess you could always not use it and just display your limited edition trimmer
If it is the C-4 you are asking about, It is a two stroke with valves.
It has more low end power and is a bit quieter than my 270.
I just picked up a brochure on their products the last time I was in the shop getting some parts. It is more money, limited edition and has some additional design changes.
