any opinions on which engine size would be best would be greatly appreciated- the Pro Cat has 12cc pumps.

What size deck are you looking at? I'm assuming 52 or 61. Either way I would go with the 26hp kawi. The extra horsepower will be helpful in the fall, cutting thick grass or if you decide to put a bagger on there. I've had a 22hp on a bob-cat with spindle driven bagger that did just fine, but it could have definately used the extra HP sometimes.

The 22 HP is more than capable especially on the FX Series Kaw Engines. But having the extra HP when you need it is nice. The extra HP won't eat up any addtional fuel since the only time it will use more fuel is when you use the extra HP. If you can afford the extra HP it is definetly nice to have.

Ive got the 27 Kohler on a 61 Procat and it has way more than enough power.

Not sure who the distributor is in your area. Our distributor offers really good deals on certain models. Usually it would be the 22/52" and the 26/61". The 26/52 combo would end up being more than the 26/61 or something absurd.

If the 26/52 and 22/52 are close then its up to you. 22 should be just fine.

thanks guys but do you think the 22hp with the 52 deck is a little light for 12cc pumps?
