Looking to plant some trees, but not hand dig the whole job. Does anyone have experience running an auger on a mini, and if so how big of a bit can it run?

It will work, just watch the down pressure as you are turning it.

It's always going to depend how hard the ground is.. But it can be done!

I have used a 12" as a pilot inthe past but the ground was extremely solid!

I run a 36 on my MT55 all the time. no problem at all. even in this drought we are in and the ground rock hard, it will drill with no problem. I do agree with not going warp speed. With a 36 auger, the tip speed is pretty fast even at idle.

I use one on my boxer all the time. No problems with it. Not as fast as using it on a full size skidsteer but still alot faster than hand digging.
