I'm new and called my insurance agent for estimates. I asked about being bonded but she said she insures lots of landscapers but none are bonded. Are you guys bonded or just insured? What's the difference? Also, $450/year for a one millon dollar policy, one man operation, good deal?

450 is about average for a liability policy for doing just maintenance operations. Bonding is is not that common but IS used alot for government and municipality sontract work. Whet this does, essentially, is provides an insurance policy that if you are unable to perform the work or complete the work (this includes to contracted satisfaction), that they will pay for the difference in expenses that is required to hire someone else to complete the work.
