I got some estimates for pools this weekend. I had the townships fax me code documents. Both towns in this one county want a electrical permit pulled and a bonding grid install in the base material 3 feet around the pool. This is in Southern Nj and it is the biggest pain in the arse thing.

Is this a NJ state wide thing or only in certain townships?

we do a lot of pool decks, and we always have to bond all the metal objects (stairs, handrails, etc.)...
never had to use a wire grid, but i can see why they want it.

A friend, here in north Jersey, just installed a pool in November and was told this is a new requirement. He didn't have to install it though because he applied for the permits before the new code was instated.
