    Hello.

I am in the market for starting up a Mowing/Lawn Maintenance business. I have searched the internet and found several books/info for sale regarding the "Lawnmowing Business".
Could anyone who has purchased or know of anyone who has purchased this literature reccommend which one is worth the money and why?

Below are just a few sites I was wondering about. Thanks for your suggestions! :usflag:

    http://www.lawncaresuccess.com/lawncare/ by Sean Adams
    http://www.mowingformoney.com/ by William Feller
    http://www.getmorelawnbusiness.com/ by Brett Pieratt

don't know on those but I have seen this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1551806053/ref=sr_11_1/104-5093416-4519112?ie=UTF8 which would be good for starters. Has CD with forms and stuff. I found one in our public library of all places. Could maybe even find one on half.com even cheaper. As I remember it was very straight forward in how it was written. Most of what you need to knowis here for free anyway, just start searching, reading and asking.

I stopped reading lawn care books when I found this site. But I am reading up on kinds of grass etc but for nuts and bolts about operating a lawn care business look no further than this site. Real life problems and solutions here.

Marketing grab Guriellia marketing by Jay Levinson, it will help but mostly you'll be doing lots of flyers, direct mailings, walk-ups and of course yellow pages. Equipment set up is a tricky one, all personal preferece really, look for well supported brands and look at what established crews are using, stay far away from non-commerical stuff unless its something you won't be using very much.

I bought THE TOTAL GREEN INDUSTRY BUSINESS PACKAGE from Sean Adams, it's a good place to start; I also went to my local library and read a few books. Now I am working with the local SBA. You should give them a call for advice. The SBA is great here is South Texas.

I read How to Start a Home-Based Landscaping Business by Owen Dell. got good reviews on Amazon and I agree.
