Yeah that's what happens when the little guys get bought by the big guys, parts start being mass produced abroad and outsourced out the yin=yang, etc....

My guess is that they have always been undercapitalized and simply did not have the cash required to move into the next level of mower development and manufacturing. Face it, direct sales only was not going to do it for them.
Ok, lets all start guessing who they are selling to, JUST FOR FUN!
Who needs a small walkbehind in their line up, or, who jut wants to absorb a competitor?
    Here are my guesses:
    1. MTD
    2. Badboy
    3. Briggs and Stratton
    Any other ideas anyone??

I like my BOP single, but if they are acquired by a cheapo mfg like MTD, that will be the last one I buy. If they are bought out by a quality mfg, then we'll see.

I still wonder why they sold.....just when they were pitching their improved decks, etc. Seems like a hasty decision.

First it was Lawn Solutions now BOP , wonder who will be next . It's a shame ,these companies were really popular among lawn site members .

In october he posted "what makes you happy in life thread" or something to that affect. I thought it was a sign he maybe getting out, with the sold out models, and posts putting up with less negative comments. It seemed like he was tired and wanted a change.

With his USA built mindset I doubt he would sell it to a overseas outfit, but that is what a overseas outfit wants, an American built image.

In one post he said WI does Fab the decks. Lots of outdoor product companys there. So who knows if he was trying to find a out or someone approached him.

His 2012 model specs had stranger deck sizes. Finding out what companies have those deck sizes might be who he is working with. But that is just speculation on that.

See that is the thing. They use Lawnsite as a platform to create buzz and sales of the product. It gets noticed by the big mfg's and then they get their big payout.

Sounds like it will allow them to never run out of stock like they have recently and have more readily available machines and parts, etc.. Might be good for them, IDK
