Have a job we are going to do and rip out a 6x6 timber wall. The guy wants a boulder wall to replace it. It is going to be 21' long and go from ground level to 4' tall next to the house. So at about 10' the wall will be about 2'-3' tall. He wants to use big boulders, as in at least 18" or bigger. A friend told me about 5 tons of boulders to do this. That amount of river rock boulders sounds low. My question is how do you estimate for the amount of boulders for these walls? The access is all the way in the backyard, a gradual slope down hill from the drive. What would you charge or at least how much rock would we need? Thanks
