I've recently added a box truck to my fleet and I love it! I do have one problem though. Where the rear wheels are, the wheel wells stick up through the floor about 4". Do you think I could cut the wheel wells short or build the floor up? If I build the floor up, do you think it will add too much weight?

Don't cut the wells out...the suspension needs that travel room. You could "deck" it and I don't think it would be that huge amount of weight...those trucks are designed to haul quote a bit of weight.

If you change anything from the manifucture you can cause all sorts of issues.

you can unbolt your box ,and install a hardwood or metal spacer between the truck frame and box ,then fix up the old wheelwells to suit you .If your just a little handy ,you can do this youself fairly easy ,if not,a truck shop can handle it in an hour or two .

How much space should there be between the wheel and the bottom of the box?

Any pics of your ramp setup?

Also, I looked at trucks and some places suggested building a deck if there were wheel wells, but that would add a fair bit of weight.

Personally I would maybe jack the box up.

    Nice setup.

I'm looking to do the same setup for this year.

I'm thinking it will be cheaper to go with a longer bifold than the dovetail though.
