Kick up about 200 more and you will be able to blow the 300 dollar blower down the driveway. Many opinions on what is best but the top names are Redmax, Shindiawa, Stihl, in no particular order.

$300 will not get it. There is no bang for the buck with that amount. Add some money and go look at the Redmax. Then you get bang for bucks.

Stihl 420 or Kawasaki 700 work well for me.$300 won't buy either one though.

I went with redmax and found it good, but heavy. very costly. over rated..
I was in home depot and seen echo, humming I tried it, Light weight cost efficient last just the same..the trimmers are good too.. I think I'm sold..the only good part with red max is the deductible of taxes...more to wright off :)

I think he meant that it served his purposes just as good as the redmax for less money, less weight, etc.
