I've got a Tekonsha controller, the type with the green light when your trailer is hooked up.

    I've also got (2) Dodge 2500's, a 2003 and 2005.

    Here's the situation.

My dump trailer, when I hook it up, the green light isn't on, nor do the brakes work. At first I thought it was the brake box.

Then I hooked the dump trailer up to my second truck, and the same thing happened.

I then hooked the enclosed trailer up, and both brakes and green lights on brake box work.

My question is, since I now know it's nothing in the brake box, nor the truck's wiring, that I've got it narrowed down to the trailer's wiring, how does a system like that work?? Making the light show on the brake box??

Do I have a wire that's lose on the brakes themselves, thereby breaking the circuit?? Or is it in the battery for the brakes?? Or is it in the wiring coming off of the trailer plug??

OR, do I just have to get out there and inspect it myself?? :D

I had a simalar prob when I hooked up my 03 dodge w/ a reese brake controller. Somehow my trailer brake wires got cut. Drove for 2 years before buying controller.
