    I notice that your redmax trimmers don't have guards on them. I was just curious why.

    I take them off as soon as i get them. I hate the guards because i like to use a lot of line when i weed wack and edge so the guards prevent that so i take them off.

    And it makes the trimmer so much lighter

    Gotcha. I had the guard break on my Shindaiwa trimmer and to cut the dull/too long ends of the string had to hold a knife by the string with it going. If you need to cut the string what's your method?

    You Can do it on sides or corners of buildings, or the side walk Just flip that thing up side and hold it to where the string is just touching the concrete with the string spinning of course.

    We use felco hand shears haha we always have them on use so thats what we use to cut our line.

    And if it has the speed feed head you can just give it a turn or two.
