This is a single cylinder Briggs - Intek Model 313777 in a Husky garden tractor that has sat unused for a couple of years. It had less than 50 hours on it when it was mothballed. I am trying to get her going to give to my friend for his personal lawn and need help. I can start it by primeing the air intake but it dies as soon as that gas is used. The Gas tank was drained before it was put away. I have replaced the fuel lines and fuel filter, and sprayed Chemtool cleaner in several times. Still no luck. Another possibly related problem..... but probably not This large single cylinder has always been rather hard to crank. If the battery is not really charged, it has problems getting past the compression cycle. In the past, I could turn the flywheel 1/4 turn by hand and the starter would do it's job. Now, turning the quarter turn seems a lot harder and the battery has to have virtually a full charge to get it to crank. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it since I am giving it away. Does anyone have any input to offer?
