    hi restrorob,
I dismanlted a briggs 10d902 0116e1 00080155 just for the experience now Im not sure how to install the rings well as you know there are 3 rings top ring and second ring are compression and third ring oil

I noticed two compressions ring are different and not sure which one is the top and also noticed one is wider and one has a groove.

Can pls tell me which one is the top ring?

I read on the net to stagger the rings 120 degree is this correct

If the groove in the one ring is on the inside of the ring that would be the top one and install it on the piston with the groove up.

If the groove is on the outside of the ring that would be the second ring and install it on the piston with the groove down.
Some rings have a dot stamped in the end at the open area, Install these with the dot facing up.
120 sounds right on the stagger.
