Well, since its been a couple of months since I have seen green grass, I thought I would take some pictures of my yard and it's pitiful brown grass.

This is by far the worst my yard has looked in the 8 years I have lived here. It looks like a total loss to me.

Looks like a normal summer yard in kansas, but somehow we got all the rain this year for some reason. (im not complaining though)

I would love to see a drop of rain LOL. We had a 40% chance today, but as usual - nothing.

Wow, how far under are you in terms of rain? Hope it doesn't hurt the bottom line too much. Around here it is the complete opposite...

I could show you a bunch worse than that if I had a digital camera.

I'm talking about lawns that have been burnt so long now that the burnt up vegetation has decomposed and dirt is showing.

Here it has only rained on a portion of my service area 3 times all season.

    4/15 = (dunno the amount)

    6/3 = .75"

    8/23 = .25"

So we have only gotten 1" of rain total since mid-april.

I have some lawns that the burnt grass is getting burnt....but we have had 3 days straight of rain so hopefully things will turn around just a bit...plus temps are going to be in the high 80's to low 90's, and we have a chance of rain all week....

Yeah, trust me we here in the south all know that, but when you have watering bans in place that only allow you to water once a week, or none at all, it make the irrigation system null and void....the only lawns that are still green are the people that are cheating....including plenty of mine...lol.....

Hell it's so bad here that even the cheating irrigators have stressed lawns.

When drought gets this extreme and the heat gets this extreme along with it...
Well, mother nature's drink is irreplaceable.
You can't pump enough city water through the irrigation to overcome it.

Watering once a week should keep dormant grass from dying.....

It might not be pretty, but it beats starting completely over
