I need a mower to go thru 36" gates. I was wondering about using a brush mower. That way if i do have brush i can use it for that also, but what i need to know is will that brush deck cut regular grass and leave a some what clean look on a lawn? i don't have very many lawns with 36" gates but it takes forever to do it with 21" self propelled mowers.

I think you would be better off buying a 336" mower if you are going to be doing any mowing at all in backyards with 36" gates. They call brush mowers "brush mowers" for a reason. I would either stick wit ha 21" or bite the bullet and get a 36" mower.

It would be nice to have a dedicated brush mower though... haha

The brush mower won't cut like a regular mower.

The decks are WAY different, and a brush mower doesn't have the suction of a normal deck. I'd guess the blade speed isn't as high with a brush mower either.
