I have a question about something in my own yard. I have hostas and every year there is some kind of insect that eats holes in the leaves. What are they and what can I do to get rid of them?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Slugs are more than likely the culpret. Beer or ortho slug be gone will kill them

Beer? Really? I'm not sure I could make myself waste beer on slugs. Well, maybe I could buy some Miller.

It's slugs. You could use Diatomaceous earth or take old cracked clay pots and crush them up and spread them around the plants. The roughness will repel the slugs or cut their soft outer skin.
