I see most..if not all seem to have 2 hinges on gate to trailer. most all the weight is where the rear wheels are riding up so 2 is right where you need them- but..My new gate I'm adding (trailer never had one) I'm wondering if I should add a third one in center? I will be driving a 3-wheel Scag up it and center wheel has some weight..although not nearly as much as other two. Is 3rd hinge nessessary? Thanks- Geno

update- went with 2..built out of 1" solid stock. left side has 1" pin 3/4" longer so ease it putting gate back on. The gate has 6 braces..besides sides- real bear to lift..It is only 4ft tall thou. But wanted over-kill as have 2 braces for each wheel..and 2 down center for when loading something with 3rd wheel ( like the STHM) they are spaced 8" apart..not together. I built a tab set-up so when gate is in up position it can't slide over..as well as a brace so it can't fall forward onto mowers. I'll try to figure out how to post pic's. Geno
