burning bush trimming

    is it too late to trim some overgrown burning bushes in the midwest? ill be trimminng at least almost 2 feet back on some of them? customer wants it done before winter, should i wait till spring?

    This is a good time of the year. My only concern might be if i wanted to wait till all the leaves dropped first because they turn color so nice. You can really wack them back too. Very hard to hurt or kill.

    OK time to trim. However since they are SOOOO slow growing, only trim back as necessary.

    I had a mangy rabbit 'trim' mine back a few years ago and it is STILL not the same height it was when planted.
