When you go to register your name can you use one that is already registered in another state or city?

depends on if you're a dba llc or inc.

here in nc its only one dba per county with the name
only on llc in the state with the name.
inc is one in the nation.

    that's my understanding anyway

Also if I want to choose a name for example Daves Lawns, does that name limit to what my business can do rather than choosing Daves Lawn Care or Services?

You can call yourself anything you want, and sell or do anything you wish.....

as long as the taxes get paid, noone cares, However I would NEVER hire daves lawn care to paint my house.

No no no. You're all wrong. My friend got her weave done along with some hair highlighting at Daves Lawn Care. She even got her nails done for $25.
