buying a mower

    I'm looking into buying a used lawn mower from a small engine repair guy in town. he has a used scag which he put a brand new Kohler command 15 horse engine he has also put a new tube in the front wheel two new back tires new pulleys, he is asking 950.00 its needs paint other than that it is fine do you think i should act on this deal.

    What year is it? If it is older than a '98 or so, that is too high. If you do decide to buy it, be sure to check the spindles and transmission before doing so.

    I can't tell you if it's a good deal. I don't know your situation, what services you provide, what services you want to provide in the future. I'd hate to see you get into a dedicated machine now, only to find out that a year or so from now you want to expand the services you provide. Then find yourself stuck with a machine that just does not have the ability to expand into those new services. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't limit your options for the future by saving some money now.
