Well I finally sold my bronco, so it is time to buy a truck. I found a 2001 chevy 3500 dual wheel with a dump bed 32000 miles 6.0 litere gas, it is automatic I wish it was standard but for $15,788.00 it is awful hard to turn down. Just wandering if you guys thought that sounded like a good deal???

that gas engine is going to eat you out of house and home. I would guess in the range of 5-7 mpg

Really the 6.0 only gets 5-7 mpg?? I had a couple of guys tell me there 6.0's were getting between 14-17 mpg.

I get between 15-18 mpg on my 6.0...Keep your foot out of the gas and you should be fine...

Don't know if this helps, but I have a 1994 Chevy 5.7 liter duallie 12' dump rack, auto, needs a O2 sensor, everything else ok. It gets 6-7 mpg. Good Luck!

Nice truck. I think you will probably be able to get 8-12 depending on how you drive it.
