OK, my 21 push mower gave out after 2 years, so I need to buy another one and quickly. I will be picking one up tomorrow or the next day at the latest. Any suggestions? I'm on a budget, so am not looking for the best, but am looking for one that is overall consistent and holds up with regular 5 days a week use. It won't be used as a main mower, but just to get in tight spots, etc. that my Scag can't get in. Please post suggestions! Thanks!

    1. Toro commercial 21" (not PROLINE) (The one with the Honda engine)
    2. Honda HRC216HXA (yes pricey but will last very long)
    3. eXmark 21" s-series

Those are the top three that I would consider before looking at anything else.

Well, I was hoping for $800 or less, but I'll spend more if I have to... It's not going to be used a lot, so I was hoping to avoid coughing up a lot of cash, but if I have to in order to avoid having to replace something on it every few months, I'll redo my budget and spend more.

By the way, what price range are these in if buying new and do they all have good warranties?

    1. 959.00 Canadian ***dollars***
    2. 1300.00 Canadian ***dollars***
    3. 1100.00 Canadian ***dollars***

Your best bet would be to check prices at your dealer since your things down there cost much less than our things up here.

From what I have heard 1 and 3 have good warranties and 2 has the best warranty all around.

^^ I'm in with this one. If it's not going to be used much, than any cheap push mower will do. These things are disposable, literally. I also work part-time at a local transfer station, and I find push mowers, commercial trimmers and blowers almost weekly in the scrap metal pile. I pull them out of the box, and usually start them right up, with whatever old gas was in them..
All that aside, if you only need the push mower for maybe 20-30 hours of use/week, a new cheap-o (even Craftsman) pusher will do just fine. You'll be surprised just how long one of these will last for a hundred bucks..

You say your willing to spend $800 or less?
You can get a self propelled model for that much.
If you just want a push mower they cost a lot less.
A push mower is not self propelled because you push it.
