I'm going to assume you know your market. However, NEVER ignore a cold call; you'll never know if this will be your ticket to skiing in Switzerland this winter. :)

My ethics, and stubbornness, bring me much more satisfaction than your twinkie would. I'm sorry. But I don't say "how high?" when someone says "Jump". Not trying to be rude, but I don't care for these clowns that can't respect me and my time. Plan and prepare ahead and I will take care of them.

You can only handle so many systems.
Around here the goal is all turned on by Memorial day and all winterized by Thanksgiving.

If you can't handle that you have too many.
I turn down so many new calls it makes me sick but I know my limit.

  4. I couldn't have done it either Dana for all the reasons you mention but when a person becomes skilled and overwhelmed with work he needs to raise his rates. When a restaurant gets a long waiting list they raise the price of eating there. 10 people may quit going but if 20 more are trying to get in the door then the owner makes more money without adding a penny of overhead.

I guess I must have dressed for the occasion, they hired me because we looked alike.

That's always how I've felt. However, I always try to accommodate the 1%ers. What am I saying? I have no idea. It's freaking hot and I'm tried

No wonder you guys are so broke; too chickenshit to take a chance.

Who's broke? You're the one living out of your truck.

  10. Lots of ways to be successful in business. No hard set rules. I have no problem with the attitude you keep what you know and the existing customers. I also have no problem with the guy who figures out how to get more dollars from the seasonal demand of his service. Regardless you should raise your rates some every year. 2.50-5.00 every year.
