Is there a formula to use to calculate how much mulch/soil to factor into a bid?

There is a hepful tools section on the forum located at the top left of the home page. It has a mulch and soil calculator. I use it all the time when I don't feel like thinking.

    Hope this helps!!!!!!!

the trick though is to know how to calculate cubic yards.

obviously you need to know your square feet.

    1000 sqft.

multiply that by # of inches thick by converting
    1000 x (3/12) = 250

divide that by 27 to convert to yards

    250 / 27 = 9.23
