Can someong give me a calculation for mulch application. The area is 12000 sq. ft x 1.2 (2") then divided by 27 right? I have to be missing something because this calculation gives me 533. I know i don't need that many yards of mulch.

I see the "sticky" at the top of the page concerning mulch calculations is being used well..................

Your are incorrect. At 2" thick the correct calc. is:2/12 = 0.17

Thus, 12,000 x 0.17 = 2040 / 27 = 76 SQ YD.

Wouldn't that be cubic yards???

No because at 2" thick it would be square yard coverage. OK, now you got me confused.
