I just received a job at our local California State University being in charge of 4 soccer practice fields, 1 regulation baseball diamond, 1 regulation football field and 12 tennis courts.

My background has been in residential apartment complexes in the design, installation and maintenance as well as being a residential landscape contractor encompassing approximately 10 years.

I must say I am grateful for finding this site as you can imagine making the transistion from residential to athletic field management has been a interesting and challenging one at best.

    Cade,
You are in a great position. More and more municipalities are sub-contracting out their ball fields. Learn all you can. You can find yourself in a real niche market segment with higher than normal profit margins.

Congrats on the job. Hope it goes well.
